Background

Louis was abandoned by his mother at his grandmother’s place in Katanga slum when he was just 1year old and has never seen her mother again.

His father used to stay far away from the city, and it's been long since the grandmother heard from Louis’s father. The father has never given Louis any support and Louis has been under the care of his grandmother alone who is also sick and spends her small income mostly on her daily medication.

His grandmother hawk's handkerchiefs in the traffic jam outside the slum and earns a very small income to take care of the family basics and also sustain Louis in school. His grandmother struggles to pay for Louis’s education at a nearby small poor school and most of the times, Louis is sent away from school due to lack of school fees.

Louis is looking for an opportunity to be sponsored so that he can attain a good education.
