Background

Daniel stays with his grandmother in a single room in Katanga slum together with her 2 children. He has been under the care of his grandmother alone ever since he was 6 months old. It has been 2 years now since the grandmother last heard from Daniel’s father and his mother has never returned since he was 6 months.

To earn a living, Daniel’s grandmother collects banana peels from different homes in the slum and sells them from which she and earns about 2 USD a day.

From her small income, she struggles to take Daniel to a small poor school in the slum but most times he is chased away from school because of lack of school fees.

Daniel is looking for an opportunity to be sponsored so that he can be able to stay in school and attain a bright future.
