Background

Sharon’s father died when she was 3 years old and was left under the care of her mother alone together with her 4 siblings.

Sharon stays with her mother and siblings in a small rented single room.

To earn a living, her mother washes other people’s clothes and sometimes she does not get people to wash for. In a week, she washes 3 times and earns 2 USD per day.

Due to her mother’s small income, Sharon is always sent away from school together with her siblings because their mother’s small income can not sustain them in school.
