BUYUNGO JOSEPH

Background

Joseph has been staying with his grandmother in Katanga slum since 2023. Before he was taken on by his grandmother, he used to stay with his paternal relatives that refused to take him to school.

He was rejected by his father even before he was born and his paternal grandparents also rejected him and made him a house helper in the home.

After he started staying with his grandmother in the slum, she took him to a poor government school where she is supposed to pay some little money which is very hard for her to raise because of her very small income. To earn a living, his grandmother hawks secondhand clothes in the slums and nearby from which she gets a very small income and sometimes she does not get any customers.

However , It is very difficult for Joseph’s grandmother to sustain him in this poor school because of her small income and most of the days he is out of school due to lack of school fees.

Joseph is a bright boy and loves being in school. He is looking for an opportunity to be sponsored so that he can be able to achieve a good and stable education at a good school.
