Background
Hafiswa lost her mother to HIV AIDS in 2023, she now stays with her aunt in Katanga slum. She has not gone to school for the whole of this year because of lack of school fees.
Her father stays in the village but he does not want to know anything about the child and he does not give her any support. After the death of Hafiswa’s mother, her father wanted to marry her off to an old man at 12 years old. Hafiswa was recued by her aunt whom she stays with in the slum. She has 3 siblings and she is the oldest child. All her other siblings do not go to school as well.
To earn a living, her aunt washes people’s clothes in the slum from which she earns 2 USD whenever she washes. Her aunt can not be able to pay for her school fees because of her very small income.
Hafiswa is looking for an opportunity to be sponsored so that she can go to school and attain a bright future.
