Background

Puis was rejected by his father when he was still in his mother’s womb. Both his parents are alive but separated before he was born.

He stays in Katanga slum with his mother and his 2 siblings in a small rented single room. His mother also takes care of 2 other children one of them is her niece that was abandoned by her parents and the other child was left behind by a neighbor when she was just 2 years and she decided to take her in. Puis and his elder sibling have never been supported by their father.

Puis’s mother sells mushrooms in the traffic outside the slum and earns 2USD a day and sometimes she is not allowed to sell on the streets by the city authority. From her small income, she struggles a lot to take care of her children alone and also sustain them in school.

Puis is looking for an opportunity of sponsorship so that he can attain a good education and a bright future ahead.
